The Mountain Gateway Wilderness Intensive takes a small group of participants and their instructors on a backpacking expedition of a lifetime in the Bob Marshall Wilderness.
The Wilderness Intensive is more than an adventure—it’s a transformational journey into God’s creation that strips away distractions and calls you deeper into faith, resilience, and purpose. Through physical challenge, biblical teaching, and intentional solitude, you’ll encounter the living God, grow in strength and leadership, and return renewed and refocused for what lies ahead.
Readiness and Preparation
No previous wilderness experience is required—just a willing heart and desire to grow. You’ll learn the essentials of backpacking and backcountry living, including cooking, navigation, and how to thrive in the wild.
Expect to carry a 40–50 lb. pack, hike 4–8 miles a day at elevations above 8,000 ft, and enjoy long, active days. Much of the necessary gear is provided and a training plan is provided to help you prepare. With commitment and a teachable spirit, most people can train, rise to the challenge, and experience lasting transformation.
